Below are some of the projects we have been proud to support and attend.
TVAF at The Romsey Show
We had a great day out at The Romsey Show recently.
Our Trustees hosted a numberof local artists who ran free art based workshops from our stand at the show which included story telling sessions.
Our pitch was positioned in the cultural quarter of the show. It was lovely to meet members of the community, explain the work of TVAF and engage young people with art and crafts activities throughout the day.
Our community bus came along for the day trip! To keep posted on next year’s event and our presence at the show click here.

Broughton Village Artists 2022
We supported the Broughton Village Art Exhibition 2022 which ran from the 29th August for one week.
The exhibition showcased the extraordinary creative talent found in and around the village of Broughton. The selling exhibition demonstrated the outstanding variety of skill, talent and imagination that exists in the community which included fine art and printmaking, textiles and sculpture, pottery and jewellery to name a few art and craft disciplines on display.
The Test Valley Arts Foundation helped to sponsored the brochure which showcases each artist. For more information visit www.broughtonvillage.art
The Our Guildhall Project
We participated in the Four Fun Fridays on the Andover High Street in Summer 2022.
We invited the local community to contribute to a community arts project where anyone could go along and dip their finger into paint and place their fingerprint onto the communal line drawing as part of the project.
This created an art piece that the residents of Andover will be able to look back at for decades to come.

The Test Valley Art Trail 2022
The Test Valley Arts Foundation were pleased to support the Test Valley Art Trail leaflet for the Hampshire Open Studio event again this year.
Brochures were available from locations across the Test Valley, and illustrated the amazing artists who took part in the 2022 open studios event.

Make It Expressive

The Monologues Project
Test Valley Arts Foundation launched a competition inviting entries of ten-minute monologues inspired in some way by a place, a character or an incident in Test Valley.
Competition judge Penny Gold, (former head of radio 4 drama) selected stories including a returning lover and an abandoned husband; a gentleman of the road and a Romany in an apocalyptic future; the Millennium Man and a discriminated schoolgirl which was performed at the Salisbury Fringe in September 2021.

TV Capsule
In 1983, the people of Test Valley made a time capsule tapestry with thread, capturing a moment in the borough’s history for future generations. Now, nearly 40 years later in 2020, we’re doing it again, but this time, instead of thread, we’re using video to create a ‘digital’ tapestry.
It’s a similar idea – to weave together what makes us who we are – the things we care about, the people and places we care about. How will we look back at our lives in Test Valley today? What will we remember and what was most significant?

The Bus of Many Things
For several years Test Valley Arts Foundation owned a vintage library bus, lovingly named the ‘Bus of Many things’ which we drove around the Test Valley over the summer months, bringing free family Arts activities to festivals, fetes, open days and events. Venues we have regularly visited include the Romsey Show, the Romsey festival, Andover’s Four Fun Fridays, the Eastleigh Mela and Stockbridge Trout & About. The bus has sadly now retired from the road.

Test Valley Arts Trail for Hampshire Open Studios
In 2021 as part of Hampshire Open Studios Annual event, TVAF sponsored a Test Valley Trail. Helping to promote over 40 local artists and venues.
The trail map was available at all of the Test Valley Venues during Hampshire Open Studios.

Sprat & Winkle Photography exhibition
We were delighted to support local photographer George Gammer with his exhibition at the Andover Museum of black and white analogue photographs depicting the ‘Sprat & Winkle’ railway line that used to run from Southampton to Andover.

Romsey Chamber Music Festival
Test Valley Arts Foundation are delighted to regularly support the Romsey Chamber Music Festival, with their annual celebration of classical music. Each year their festival provides an opportunity for world class music to be performed in the Test Valley with inclusive and accessible concerts held in Romsey and an education program running alongside.
It Happened in Hampshire
Test Valley Arts Foundation were proud to sponsor Roy Chatfield’s play – It Happened in Hampshire. This professional production was performed in nine local Andover schools alongside a sellout out public performance at The Lights in Andover. The piece provided a light hearted romp through Hampshire’s long and varied history over the last thousand years ago.
Test Valley Arts Foundation would like to thank sponsors Be Wiser, Hampshire County Council, Test Valley Borough Council and The Lights for their support with this project.
Romsey the Movie
We were proud to support Kate Jackson’s hilarious romp through the history of Romsey.
